On July 20 evening at Ha Nam Provincial Cultural House, Phu Ly Town the program "Mobilizing the Fund for building almshouses with gratitude to former youth volunteers who are in specially difficult circumstances” was held.
This is a program in the series of activities to commemorate the 70th anniversary of Martyrdom and Wounded Soldier Day and the 67th anniversary of the Youth Volunteer Corps.
Attending the program were representatives of the Young Volunteers Association of Vietnam, the Red Cross, Humanity & Life Newspaper, leaders of Ha Nam province, and together with more than 700 former Youth Volunteers and representatives of units and enterprises located in the area.
In the previous battles during the war time, the youth volunteer forces made an important contributions to the success and victory of the nation. After the war, there are many disadvantaged youth volunteers as a result of their health declination, unable to participate in production. In particular, many female volunteers are unmarried, lonely, helpless, living in temporary shabby old houses.
As revealed by Comrade Cu Van Phien, Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial Association of Former Youth Volunteers, Ha Nam has the highest rate of youth volunteers per capita in the country. The province has 247 female youth volunteers out of the total of 5,000 female youth volunteer who are unmarried, solitary, lonely, and in difficult circumstances in the entire country.
Mrs. Hoang Thi Ngoc Anh- Chairwoman of the Trade Union receives a certificate of merit from the Executive Board of the Association of Former Young Volunteers of Vietnam, recognizing the Hong Ha Feed Joint Stock Company with its excellent achievements in supporting the building of almshouses.
The call for support the building of almshouse is necessity, an expression of noble deeds, in gratitude and rememberance of the merit of the former youth volunteers for national independence. After more than two months of fund raising, the campaign has gained the support from more than 62 units, individuals with the total donated amount up to over VND 700 million.
At the fund raising review ceremony, on behalf of Hong Ha Nutrition JSC, Mrs. Hoang Ngoc Anh- Trade Union Chairwoman offered VND 20 million to Provincial Association of Former Youth Volunteers.
On behalf of Ha Nam Provincial Association of Former Youth Volunteers, Mrs. Nguyen Thi Kim Tien expressed her deep appreciation to donors and pledged to use the donated money for the right purpose and to bring about brightened life for the Former Youth Volunteers.
